IIT Madras Healthcare Info System: analysts from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras have built up a blockchain-based secure clinical information and data trade framework for a mobile phone-based application named BlockTrack that is currently being field-tested at IIT Madras Institute Hospital.

The venture has been attempted with CSR support from Infosys beginning during the starting of the COVID-19 pandemic a year ago.

BlockTrack plans to securely digitize medical services data systems while guaranteeing the assurance of sensitive individual data and clinical records by decentralizing the control and responsibility of data through blockchain-based technology.

The BlockTrack is presently secured through a temporary IP documented with the Indian Patent Office.

The two android versions of the application have been separately developed – one for the use of patients and the other for doctors. BlockTrack’s algo creates unique identification codes for clients and guarantees uniqueness across boundaries with almost no possibility for duplication.

It opens up the guarantee of widespread and transferrable medical care data to the executives with a solid accentuation on information security and following the spread of irresistible illnesses across geologies.

BlockTrack permits the interoperability of frameworks from different clinics, institutes, and medical care associations. It incorporates a medical supply chain and enables tracking of the spread of contagious viruses.

The patient can pay to visit any medical services centers which are on BlockTrack’s blockchain network without having any worries about duplication of records or re-enlistments.

BlockTrack is created by a group driven by Professor Prabhu Rajagopal, Lead Faculty for Remote Diagnostics, Center for Nondestructive Evaluation (CNDE), Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT madras Healthcare Info System.

Featuring the one-of-a-kind parts of this venture, Prof Rajagopal said, “BlockTrack is an energizing task that portrays designing developments that can possibly change different areas.

This is one of the primary executions of blockchain innovation for getting medical services information to the board frameworks and we see the tremendous effect this methodology can make in safely digitizing and keeping up exceptional patient records the nation over and in reality across the world in the end.”
